In "research" phases, I work, work, work. My arm feels like it's going to fall off from all the typing I've been doing! Seriously. I found some good name-lists I'm transcribing for genealogy. So, I'm keeping busy!
I did write 2 short articles though. What can I say? <giggle> The 2 just slipped out. I'm certainly not going to stop an article that wants to be writtem down!

research is such a pain, isn't it? It used to require many hours at the library ... or interviewing people i didn't really like. thank God for the PC!
Hi !
For me the writing--research--writing is a pattern I've noticed that I often do. I like research because it uses many "strengths" and talents all at the same time. I can feel my brain working to find facts or clues, and figuring out how to use those to get to the next clue or fact.
But, research is often long and involved; time-consuming. Often, there's no "instant" gratification. That's okay---unless I hit a dry spell for weeks. Of course when research leads from one thing to another to another, it's exciting!!
I guess I've learned that even when you cannot find what (or who) you are looking for, it still is "successful" research -- you know now the thing or person is not where you looked... so you can mark those resources as 'no' and try something else!
I do hate all the typing though involved in research. Copy+paste doesn't always work online (I research a lot of past & current newspapers), and I type 30wpm with 2 fingers (giggle!). And with shoulder injuries, yep, research IS a literal pain!
Do you write too? What kinds of things (poetry, stories) do you write? Will look forward to hearing from you again.
