Yeah, when I first got sick, I read at least 5 or more books a day (what can I say; I had nothing else to fill very long hours). I *read* every word, except when a section got a little slow.
But, I notice after doing so much genealogy research, I tend to scan more than read now. Eye-scanning sure helps when looking for one name in a 2,000-name list. I wonder if I'd get impatient with reading a book now, though! I hope not, because I really value the written word, especially stories of others' lives.
Writer and Nurse from Northeast Ohio, where the weather changes faster than it's broadcast! My three disabled cats (and my grown daughter) think I'm a bit nuts--but they love me anyway! I do a variety of volunteer work on the Internet, in addition to hosting numerous websites and a Yahoo writing group. I decided to share writing tips here... Peeling Bark is the official Blog of professional writer Judith A. Florian, R.N.
